I've put together a list of my favorite and tried and true mood boosting tricks that I use on the regular when I need a pick me up. Look through the list and if you find one that might work for you, please give it a try and let me know if works.

Deep breathing - Take three deep breaths. Inhale and count to three. Exhale and count to three. When we take a deep breath, we are pumping oxygen into our brains, leaving us feeling calm, awake, and refreshed.
Quick meditation - A calming five to ten minute brain relaxation session is a great way to give your mood a healthy and effective boost.

Socialize - Get out and have fun. Sometimes all you need is to get together with a few friends, chat, and have some good food and drink. Just relax!
List what you're grateful for - Sometimes, all we need is a change in perspective to alter our mood. So, the next time you're feeling down or depressed, grab a pen and paper and start to list all the things you're grateful for. Maybe even start a gratitude journal; a place you can always turn to when the need arises. It's quite amazing how our moods can change when we take a minute to really think about how lucky we are.

Be kind to others - A very quick and easy way to instantly boost your mood is to help someone out. It can be as simple as holding the door for someone, or as big as buying the groceries for the person behind you in line. Not only will it help you feel better, but it might just rub off on someone else and the kindness chain just keeps going.
Spend time in nature - A little sunshine and time outside is always a great way to instantly put you in a good mood. Personally, I know that when I'm out hiking or just playing outside with my kids, I feel so much happier and calm.

Eat healthy - It's all too easy to grab some fast food or something bad from the gas station, but instead of that, try cooking yourself a healthy meal full of veggies and lean meats. Not only can cooking itself be therapeutic, but you will physically, and in turn, mentally, feel better after a healthy meal.
Have some Happy Tea - Slow things down with a cup of our very calming and oh so delicious Happy Tea. It's full of herbs that are known to have healing elements that promote anti-anxiety and antidepressant properties in the body.
Please, the next time you're feeling down or depressed, or just need a little pick me up, try any one of these mood boosting tricks and you will be on your way to brighter and happier day.
Love + Positive Vibes,
Samantha
